Recently, a Russian court has imposed a penalty of 3.8 million roubles ($41,530) on Google, Alphabet, for a Russian insurance company. Alleged Slowing of YouTube Speeds
Critics have argued that Russian power is purposefully slowing YouTube download speeds in an effort to block access to information which is derogatory towards President Vladimir Putin and his government. Russian communications regulatory body, Roskomnadzor, declared that the platform has also been unable to counter content inciting extremism and calls for street unauthorized rallies.
Legal and Economic Sanctions

Google's work in Russia has been disrupted by these regulatory measures. The same year, due to local authorities freezing their Russian subsidiary company's bank accounts, and thereby unable to meet financial liabilities such as payroll and vendor bills, the company filed for bankruptcy.
