Social media and search engines are filled with articles and memes of men hating to shop even at festivals. I think people have completely forgotten to check the details before jumping to a conclusion. Everyone is sharing and typing captions about how men are bad at shopping, etc. This is nothing but merely an old expression of society representing the definition of manliness. People fear changes and more than that they fear being proven wrong. I have always seen some men who hate shopping because they don't really like the UIs or feel trouble scrolling and so do some women too. Who are we? We all are humans, we can acquire and have any quality going beyond the social norms. So we are here to break a big stereotype after talking to some of our dear men and women. "I especially wait for Diwali to shop ethnics"
Said B.tech Final year student Sakshya Tripathi. He told us about how he started to search for the perfect Kurta way too early before Diwali. He said, "I love ethnics and love to try out new trends in Festive seasons."
"I buy things without any occasion"
This is what Web designer Alok has to say. "I am very particular about my looks and love to hang out with my friends. Who says that men hate shopping, I love to try out cosmetics and buy clothes without any occasion. It makes me happy."
"Love to shop for my dog"
Says Artist Amit Singh. "Well, I am an artist and it is like therapy for me to shop for stationaries. I have spoiled my dog with his toys though love to buy him fancy things and food bowls. He is my home."
"My husband grocery shops and wishlists every household"
Says Sapna Gupta. "He prepares lists and marks every item in preference. When sales arrive, we hunt shop. Honestly, I hate scrolling shopping apps that too when your toddler is watching TV and jumping on your tummy."
