Women who were born with the hope of being a Boy are one of the biggest targets of the World's oldest Social system Patriarchy. The very first thing they saw was the faces of their scared mothers and disappointed fathers. Keeping them alive was a huge compulsion for the whole family. As they grew older, they were taught to compromise on every little thing.
And here began the practice of dominance on them by the men and women of the family.
Here are some reasons for letting patriarchy in their homes and people shut their mouths on hearing :
Fear of losing control
Male dominance and control over women have brought them a new kind of comfort. From not taking a glass of water to shouting at them for no reason, the situation is getting worse and miserable in rural India. Patriarchs never want to lose control and power in the family so they keep discriminating in the fear of losing control.
The Grandparent story: Girls are someone else' wealth
Most of the beliefs in a patriarchal family are illogically defined and deeply established and members are following them blindly.
If you would ask the earner of the family the reason behind these beliefs they will simply avoid you or would say they respect their great-grandparents and their theories.
It only works in that way
When asked, a lot of women in rural India told: It only works in that way, we have gone through the same suffering and have no option. Women are physically weak so it will be better for us to let our men do what they decide.
They added We are not educated that much so where we will go if stop cooking and working for their men.
Some women in urban areas too advocated the above, irrespective of their economical and societal statuses.
