Societal pressure of being 'Manly' : To be Tough and Unfelt

Who is a man? What separates them from being a woman?

Do they cry too or should day?

"Fulfilling traditional norms of masculinity in one's attitude makes one a real man."

Above is our loving society's take on manhood.

Threatening men by asking questions about their identity, and judging them by their hobbies and choices have brought aggressiveness in most men. They feel challenged and sense discomfort everywhere they go when interruptions are made against their manhood.

Challenges and Gender value

Nobody, male or female is purely masculine or feminine. A man too can have the same feminine qualities as a woman (qualities decided by cultural orthodoxy). The real challenge is to be born with the sex male and deep inside feel the rejection of being one. The distributed gender roles between males and females have been challenging for many men, where they are generally expected to be bold, aggressive, and strong, dress in masculine ways and walk manly.

Be a man: Unfelt and no tears

Being a man doesn't mean that you do not need emotional support but due to societal pressure men can not express themselves as they want to. Some hide their tears because they are taught to be a man and strong and no real man shed tears.

Bread earning and winning maintain your status

Men are expected to settle down by the age of 26-27 so that they can earn and fulfill the necessities of each member of the family, it doesn't stop here they are also expected to be the breadwinner.

Sports watcher

A man is always a sports lover in the eyes of society, thinking that there must lie a jersey in men's wardrobe with their names on it.

Fear of being judged

Men are asked to drive off their relatives without even asking if they can ride a bike/bullet or not.

In the fear of being judged some remain quiet and some start to reassert their manhood. This can be suffocating if not discussed.
