I met my husband in the summer of 2006, we were in high school and madly in love. I was a girl who believed in fairytales and the prince charming groom thing. I always assumed my life would be nothing but like a fairy world and I'll always be close to someone more than their life. And it all began to make sense, my beliefs, and my perfect world started to take a beautiful shape when I met Tim. We went to college together, had our first jobs together and it was just going perfectly like a dream. We had everyone's attention, be it at college, or office.
Tim was just the guy any girl would have thought to have in her life. He was fond of children and honestly, especially a girl child. He even told me about having one but I did not take it seriously. We discussed this topic but somehow I always let it stay in a haze. Never thought having or not having kids would matter this much in anyone's life.
In the fall of 2018, we decided to get married and start afresh together.
We both were happy and financially stable but there came a time when I felt him distancing himself from everything. "Is it about the baby?", I asked him over and over but he kissed me on the forehead and left.
Tim knew that I was on pills but he never complained. I was busy with my office project and Tim was working from home. Sometimes when I called him from the office I found him playing with our neighbor's 6 years old daughter Tracy. Her mother Martha recently divorced his husband.
After the long day when I come back home, Tim would only talk about Tracy and her cute drawings, or how she hugged him when he went to pick her up after school because Martha was at her Mom's. Things started happening so fast that I got to know Martha invited Tim over for dinner when I wasn't home. Although Tim never tried hiding anything somehow it didn't feel right to me.
I felt that Tim and I were completely different, where all I wanted more success and foreign trips with Tim by my side, he only wanted a simple life and a baby with me. It's not that I wasn't aware of but I thought I could change him, and his priorities but how stupid I was. Tim always wanted to discuss things before marriage, it was me who kept him confused.
One thing I was very sure that Martha started like Tim and there he was, my Tim playing with her daughter. Tracy loved him so much that she cut her 7th birthday cake holding Tim's hand. I never saw Tim this happy and sound ever since I married him. I never intended to separate Tim and Tracy but I also couldn't ignore Martha and her intentions.
It was winter 2021, and everything was going on regularly. Tim came out of the bathroom and looked at me teary-eyed and said, "Are we pregnant?" I smiled and kissed him. He held me up and screamed happily, "I love you...I love you..."
I gave birth to a baby girl and Tim was there holding my hands, kissing it again and again, crying like a child. Our daughter gave us everything that was missing in life. She saved our marriage I almost failed.
